When the meter terminal doesn’t accept your client’s credit card, there are three things you could do. 

  1. The credit card charge problem could be caused by a bad connection with verifone system, so if you move the car a little bit, the meter might get a better connection and accept the credit card. 
  2. If this doesn’t help, you could try to reboot the meter by pressing the silver button for 10 seconds and letting go. Afterwards, you need to put the price of the trip in manually and charge the customer. 
  3. Finally, if none of the previous steps helped, you can ask the client to pay in cash.
